Remember to Laugh :)

It had been the best day off in a long time. Shawn and I had FINALLY had the day off work together so we went off on an adventure. We enjoyed the cute animals at the Hogle Zoo, looked around at the This Is The Place monument, strolled around the new City Creek Mall and then strolled some more around the Salt Lake Capitol (so pretty!!!). By the time we arrived home our energy had been spent and we were ready to relax...but that wasn't in the cards for us this particular night.

I was getting the groceries out of the car and wondered why Shawn was still in the bathroom (you can see the light from outside since there is a window). I walk into our home only to find that water was ALL OVER the floor! I rushed over to Shawn who was by the bathroom sink and we saw a pretty bad leak that was coming from one of the pipes! So we put a bucket underneath the pouring water and began sopping up the 3 inch deep water and sweeping it outside. All looked promising for us until I made a bad mistake. I was by the source of the leak and was wringing out a towel into the bathroom sink. I put a little bit of pressure on the sink and BOOM! It fell off the wall!!!!!! Not only that but once the shock passed I realized that I was holding my eyes tightly shut because there was water firehosing at my face and it hurt!! I blindly scrambled to find the painful source, all the while screaming for help from Shawn! He came in and told me to aim the water into the shower while Zach (our next door neighbor) and him searched frantically for the main water pipe to shut off the water. This whole time I was trying to call our landlord who would not pick up the phone. Circumstances were pretty chaotic (and quite comical if you had walked into our home at that point)! The men happened to finally find the main water line and shut it off so the firehose went all the way down to a trickle. YAY! The landlord finally called back and sent a plumber over. Life for our little bathroom was getting back under control.

Afterwards I couldn't help but start laughing at how funny and random of an experience that was. We will definitely remember that one for a long time! I also realized that even in the hardest of times or the most crazy of times, we always need to remember to laugh. Laughing makes everything a lot easier to bear. :)
